Gustav Mahler died today – 97 years ago

Composer (of “Symphony No. 1”, “Symphony No. 2”, “Symphony No. 3”, “Symphony No. 4”, “Symphony No. 5”, “Symphony No. 6”, “Symphony No. 7”, “Symphony No. 8”, “Das Lied von der Erde”, “Symphony No. 9”, and “Symphony No. 10”) Gustav Mahler was born on July 7, 1860 in Kaliště, Bohemia. He said, “A symphony must be like the world. It must contain everything." [So that’s why they’re so long and repetitious.]... Mr. Mahler died on May 18, 1911 in Vienna, Austria.
