Author (of “Madame Bovary”) Gustave Flaubert was born on December 12, 1821 in Rouen, France. He said, “Language is a cracked kettle on which we beat out tunes for bears to dance to, while all the time we long to move the stars to pity." [And here I thought it was for communication.]... Mr. Flaubert died on May 8, 1880 in Rouen, France.
