Comedian (on the “Chitlin' circuit”) Jackie “Moms” Mabley was born as Loretta Mary Aiken on March 19, 1894 in Brevard, North Carolina. She said, “Life is like a game of poker: If you don't put any in the pot, there won't be any to take out." [Yup!]... Ms. Mabley died on May 23, 1975 in White Plains, New York.
