Singer (of many songs) and songwriter (of “It’s Only Make Believe”) Conway Twitty was born as Harold Lloyd Jenkins on September 1, 1933 in Friars Point, Mississippi. He said, “A good country song takes a page out of somebody's life and puts it to music.” [And sometimes, a whole chapter.]... Mr. Twitty died on June 5, 1993 in Springfield, Missouri.
